This book lives in the tension suggested by its subtitle-We Must Offer a Better Apologetic
or We Owe a Long Overdue Apology?-because I no longer believe the Church's primary task is to prove that God is real, but to demonstrate that faith can be honest and to do so by way of a deep love manifest as compassion, though bounded by wisdom. I write as one who trusts Scripture deeply while acknowledging its human formation, convinced that divine revelation did not bypass history but worked patiently through it. In a world wary of certainty and resistant to authority, apologetics that ignore humility sound hollow, while apology without conviction dissolves into silence. What follows is neither a defense of God nor a retreat from truth, but a witness shaped by a life time. One that proclaims a progressive Christ, most clearly revealed, not through flawless arguments from broken institutions, but through a long, imperfect story in which God remains faithful even when His people may have not been.
