I originally began writing these stories with a younger readership in mind, imagining children and teenagers enjoying the adventures, mishaps and lessons tucked inside each tale. I pictured them laughing at the animals' antics, gasping at the close calls and maybe learning a truth or two along the way. But as the pages grew, I soon realised they weren't just children's stories at all. Their humour, honesty and the glimpses of God's faithfulness woven through them were just as meaningful and sometimes even more so for adults who had weathered a few storms of their own.
The deeper I went, the clearer it became that these stories carried something timeless: a reminder that God speaks through the ordinary, the unexpected and even the absurd. Adults, perhaps more than children, need those reminders. And so the audience quietly expanded. In the end, the stories proved themselves suitable for anyone, whether young, middle-aged, or, like me, well into my seventies and still learning.
After all, a good story doesn't check your age at the door. It doesn't mind whether you read it with wrinkled hands or sticky fingers from a jam sandwich. A good story simply waits patiently, faithfully for someone willing to listen, to laugh, to wonder, and maybe to see the world a little differently than before.
