The Wheel O' Fortune is a novel by British author Louis Tracy. The story is set in the early 20th century and follows the life of a young man named Dick Roylance. Dick is the heir to a large fortune, but he has been living a life of luxury and idleness, much to the dismay of his father. When his father dies, Dick finds himself in a precarious financial situation and must find a way to support himself.Dick's luck changes when he meets a wealthy and eccentric American named John Minute. Minute takes a liking to Dick and offers him a job as his secretary. Dick accepts the offer and soon finds himself embroiled in a web of intrigue and danger. As he travels the world with Minute, Dick becomes involved in a number of adventures, including a daring rescue mission in South America and a dangerous journey through the African jungle. Along the way, he also falls in love with Minute's beautiful niece, Ruth. The Wheel O' Fortune is a thrilling adventure story that takes readers on a journey across the globe. Tracy's vivid descriptions of exotic locales and his fast-paced plot make this book a page-turner from start to finish. It is a classic tale of rags to riches, with a dash of romance and plenty of action. He was closing in again before he perceived some irregular shadows, showing black against the translucent film of smooth water. That sufficed. He thundered on ahead of Abdullah, who, perhaps, thought it advisable to leave this final development in the hands of a European. There was a scurry among a small knot of men on the beach. A sharp hail was answered at a considerable distance from the sea. Royson rode with such furious speed that he now made out a white-robed female figure struggling in the grasp of a man attired in the burnous and hood of a coast Arab. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
