In the shifter world, true-born alpha's are a myth. Eric Wentworth is a true-born alpha, and he's not a myth. Alpha Sanders rules his pack with an iron fist and loves to punish the pack members. He especially has it in for the gay shifters. Ross Diaz suffers most under the ruling of Sanders and his inner circle. Eric is forced to use his powers as a true-born alpha for the first time when Sanders goes too far and nearly kills Ross.
When more of Eric's friends are threatened by their alpha, he thinks that it's time to leave and start new, somewhere far away from his birth pack. All those who want to move, go with Eric and the Wentworth Pack is a fact! They find a home in Colorado, at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, where Eric buys a farm with many acres of land. Eric always dreamed of breeding American Quarter Horses. Now, his dream can come true. The ranch is thriving, and the pack members love working with the horses. For ten years the pack lives in prosperity until the new veterinarian comes to town. ******Jory Bradshaw is a veterinarian in New York. After a relationship of five years, he wants to break up because Patrick, his boyfriend, is getting abusive. Before he can end his relationship with Patrick, the man goes ballistic and almost kills Jory. After that, only one friend sticks-up for him, Maxim. She is the sister Jory never had. It's Maxim who convinces Jory to press charges against his ex-boyfriend. Patrick's family is rich and powerful. Thanks to his father, who bribes the police and even a judge. Patrick is sentenced to only four years in jail for nearly killing Jory. Now, four years have passed, and Patrick is released. Jory knows that his ex will come after him, so, he flees New York and moves to Willows Creek to start life over. The veterinarian hopes that Patrick doesn't find him and that he will be safe in the small town. Jory meets Eric when the shifter has two injured horses who need to be checked. The attraction is instant, and soon both men are head-over-heels with each other. Life seems better than good, but then he gets a phone call from his best friend, Maxim. She lets him know that Patrick is a free man and that Jory must be careful. After landing in the hospital, Jory knows that it's time to be truthful and tell Eric everything that happened to him, four years ago. The alpha has a secret of his own, and he knows that for him to the time has come to be honest. After all, Jory is his fated mate. Eric thinks that his mate is human, but he was never more wrong because there is more to Jory than meets the eye. The alpha's powers will increase to complement Jory's. Eric Wentworth will do anything to keep Jory safe. All hell breaks loose when the Wentworth Pack and Jory come under attack. Patrick is on a mission. He wants to end Jory's life at all costs. The ranch dog gets hurt, a pack member loses his life, and angels descend. Eric knows that he must prepare for war because that's the only way to keep Jory safe. In all the turmoil Jory's destiny will be revealed.
