The United States of America, as a world leader, had a vision of a looming pandemic that may cripple the world. Two former presidents, George W. Bush in 2005 and Barack Obama in 2014, spoke concisely about the imminent pandemic that may stalemate the global economy. They visualized and had the mental image of the perceived devastation. What happened? How did the coronavirus catch us unaware and challenge our global leadership? Where did we get it wrong as leaders and as a nation? Perhaps they thought vision was enough.
What makes an individual set out on a journey and never arrive at their destination? Is vision an end in itself or a means to an end?
