In her beauty there was mystery
The unspoken and hidden
The pain made apparent in a
Tableaux of despair
So much beauty in her creative displayMy mother became a living picture
A face I couldn't touch yet only admire from a distance
Like the ocean
Or the moon
If you got too closeIt may consume you too
So we all stood backIn wonder
And admired what we could not touchLike a priceless museum exhibit
