The Voyage of Francois Leguat of Bresse V2: To Rodriguez, Mauritius, Java, and the Cape of Good Hope is a historical account of the travels of Francois Leguat, a French explorer who embarked on a journey to various destinations in the 17th century. The book is a detailed narrative of Leguat's adventures, starting with his arrival on the island of Rodriguez, where he and his companions were stranded for two years. The book describes the flora and fauna of the island, as well as the customs and traditions of the native people. After leaving Rodriguez, Leguat and his companions traveled to Mauritius, where they encountered giant tortoises and other exotic animals. They then sailed to Java, where they spent several months exploring the island and learning about its culture. Finally, they sailed to the Cape of Good Hope, where they encountered Dutch settlers and observed the local wildlife. The book provides a fascinating glimpse into the world of 17th-century exploration and is a valuable resource for historians and anyone interested in the history of travel and exploration. It is a detailed and engaging account of Leguat's travels, providing insight into the challenges and rewards of exploration during this time period. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
