Aloof, silken-coated, and unmistakably regal, the Afghan Hound is among the oldest and most glamorous of the sighthounds, a swift coursing dog of the mountains. This treasured anthology gathers vintage writing and rare photographs celebrating the Afghan Hound.

Part of the Vintage Dog Books library, The Vintage Dog Scrapbook - The Afghan Hound collects essays, breed notes, poems, and period photographs drawn from classic interwar dog books such as About Our Dogs (1931) by A. Croxton Smith, Dogs of the World (1931) by Arthur Craven, and Hutchinson's Dog Encyclopaedia (1935). Together they capture the breed as it was known a century ago, in the words and images of the fanciers who prized it most.
