Giữ Lòng là một tập truyện ngắn xoay quanh đời sống của những con người bình thường nơi xứ lạnh - những người đã rời quê hương, bước và o một xã hội mới với luật lệ, nhịp sống và những thử thách chưa từng quen thuộc. Ở đó, cái lạnh không chỉ hiện diện trong thời tiết, mà còn trong khoảng cách giữa người với người, giữa lựa chọn đúng và lựa chọn dễ.
Sáu truyện trong tập không kể về những biến cố lớn, cũng không dựng nên những anh hùng. Chúng lặng lẽ theo chân những con người đang mưu sinh, đang già đi, đang gìn giữ những giá trị tưởng như nhỏ bé sự tử tế, lòng chừng mực, ý thức về đúng - sai, và khả năng nhìn thẳng và o lương tâm mình.
