My name is Valerie Funk and I'm a professional fiber & quilt artist, graphic designer, photographer, and long-arm quilter. The quilts I create are not the typical quilts you expect to see in laying on the bed in your grandmother's house. What I create are absolutely amazing works of arts that are more likely to be found on the walls of galleries and fine art venues across the United States. This book is a beautiful compilation of many of the art quilts I've created over the years, their stories, inspirations, and why I felt so driven to create them. This 56-page book is filled to brim and exploding with full color images of several of my quilts some of which incorporate a variety of different elements of surface design including hand dyes, oil and acrylic paints, raw edge applique, and other such embellishments.This vibrant anthology includes a large collection of my abstract works, several of my extraordinary landscape and nature themes, military tributes, a few uniquely styled bed quilts, portraits, and wide variety of animals some of which are fun and funky and others that are strikingly captivating.
