Valentine and Orson: A Romantic Melodrama is a play written by Thomas Dibdin in 1804. The story revolves around two brothers, Valentine and Orson, who are separated at birth. Valentine is raised as a nobleman, while Orson is raised by a bear in the forest. The play follows their journeys as they eventually meet and fall in love with the same woman, Angelica. However, their love is complicated by their family history and the villainous schemes of their half-brother, Sir Bertrand. The play is a classic example of the romantic melodrama genre, featuring elements of adventure, romance, and suspense. It was popular in its time and has been adapted into various forms, including operas and films. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
