This polemic against vaccination was written in the late 19th century, at a time when the practice was becoming more widespread but was still controversial. Amerige argues that vaccination is not only ineffective, but also dangerous, and that it violates both individual liberty and the will of God. While many of his arguments seem outdated today, the book is an interesting artifact of the history of medicine and public health.
