V 2/8 A Fox Co. 1st Platoon is a journey of words that follows a series of events from 2009-2011. War is a subject we often see depicted as nostalgic cliché scenes in a film. We read or hear about all the flowery parts that encompass war, but no one really talks about platoon politics. What happens when the good guys become the villains? When PFC Donald Wayne Vincent died, Corporal Herrera thought he knew absolute hate and anger. It was only a precursor to what truly lay ahead. He vowed for revenge! Herrera stared into the shrapnel ridden face of his enemy as his dark journey unfolded. Two weeks into his 3rd combat tour something far deadlier began brewing. 1st Platoon, from two time periods, had suffered at the hands of careerists. Marine personnel only interested in the advancement of their careers, all the while undermining 1st Platoon's embodiment as Marines. Revenge becomes the agenda as 1st Platoon is dosed with the death of a brother, Sergeant Joseph Garrison. Revenge towards the cowardly careerists and Taliban. This is a tale of brotherhood, justice, and love, that comes with the highest price ever paid, life.
