This book is written as an intensely researched chronical highlighting the extraordinary African American woman, Annie Turnbo Pope Malone whose life and legacy has been eclipsed from many. It maybe debatable which was the first millionaire between Malone and Walker because they both took different paths towards spending their wealth. The point is that both existed as entrepreneurs at a time when African Americans and especially women had to overcome many obstacles and adversities. As a pioneer in the cosmetology industry, Annie Malone was confronted with jealousy, greed, betrayal and resentment but through it all she maintained her unwavering faith in the omnipotent and mankind. She continued to live her life unwavering as an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and humanitarian until her death in 1957 at the age of 87.
