Nestled in his hometown of Denver, Colorado, Ethan lives a quiet life running a landscaping company and spending time with his dear family. One night at the dinner table, he receives an unexpected phone call from his old boyhood friend, Ronald Ronnie Parker. Ronnie tells Ethan that he's considering moving back to Colorado after he claims to have received a promotion at work.
Ethan once thought that Ronnie could not wait to leave Colorado and remembers an incident that seemed to trigger their slow drift apart. Confused, but hopeful that he can rekindle their old friendship bond, Ethan elects to help Ronnie and his family get settled into their new home.
Ethan makes certain to roll out the red carpet for Ronnie and his family. Straining to impress Ronnie, he orders them a lavish rental home for their initial stay. However, within the span of a few days, it becomes clear that not all is well with Ronnie and his family. One wrong move and a simple mistake escalates into a horrible tragedy. Falling into a downward spiral of deceit, pain, and binge drinking, Ethan realizes that perhaps some friendships are better left in the distant past.
A delightful drama, Unintended Consequences takes readers on a wild, tense ride. Unintended Consequences will appeal to fans of nail-biting uncertainty and strained relationships in fiction.
