This book addresses two important but neglected realities about undergraduate teaching. First, teaching at the undergraduate level is very different from teaching at any other level and poses unique challenges that warrant specialized knowledge of pedagogical principles and strategies. Second, that most undergraduate instructors have little to no training in pedagogy and are mostly guided by the methods they themselves experienced as students.
