If you have followed the work of Kiya Renae, you're definitely in for a treat! In this third anthology, 'UnRefined', she provides her readers with an intimate look into her life, her thoughts, her experiences, her lowest moments, most pivotal moments and more than anything, her moments of true growth. In this account, she holds nothing back and invites you to journey with her through reflective pieces. As Kiya Renae continues to pursue her Doctorate of Education, she exudes an unveiling maturity in her work. You can literally feel the growth from cover to cover. Continuously inspired by the ups and downs of life, she is compelled to release even the ugliest of her realities and realizes that this is a pivotal step in the process of healing and in the process learning to love yourself unabashedly. She's inviting the reader to grow with her as she provides an interactive experience in this text; yes she is putting her readers to work by providing exercises that will allow you, the reader, to take a much needed look within yourself. Self-reflection is undervalued, and underrated. Aging is inevitable, but growth is a choice. Are you ready to journey within yourself?
