Excerpt: ... BRANCH REPORTS. Report of Cincinnati Branch, United States Christian Commission. From the first of January, 1865, the date of the last annual Report, until the office was closed, about the middle bf August, the work of the Cincinnati Branch continued to prosper. It was understood, soon after the fall of Richmond, that the business of the Commission would be closed up as speedily as possible. Notwithstanding a public statement to this effect, the people of Ohio continued to furnish the means necessary to carry on our operations creditably and successfully, until supplies were no longer needed.
