Ishq ki Aag: (The fire of love, Historical Fiction)

Ilyas Sitapuri is a writer of historical fiction in Urdu whose writing style is not only unique and close to reality but also completely different from the style of textbooks and historiography. He has never emphasized on proving the accuracy of the events, but instead of the main characters of this era, he has tried to explain this era through a minor character, which makes the reader feel like he is walking in the same era and the events are happening in front of him. In this book, Ilyas Sitapuri has narrated the love story of one of ruler of Cordova.

الیاس سیتاپوری، اردو میں تاریخی کہانیاں لکھنے والے ایسے مصنف ہیں جن کا طرز تحریر نہ صرف منفرد اور حقیقت سے قریب ہے بلکہ نصابی کتب اور تاریخ نگاری کے انداز سے یکسر مختلف ہے۔ انہوں نے کبھی واقعات کی صحت کو ثابت کرنے پر زور نہیں دیا بلکہ اس عہد کے مرکزی کرداروں کے بجائے ایک معمولی شخصیت سے اس عہد کو سمجھانے کی کوشش کی ہے جس سے قاری خود کو اسی دور میں چلتا پھرتا اور واقعات کو اپنے سامنے رونما ہوتے ہوئے محسوس کرتا ہے۔ اس کتاب میں قرطبہ کے ایک قاضی کی داستانِ محبت کو الیاس سیتاپوری نے بیان کیا ہے۔
