The Book of Revelation is not about the second coming of Christ. It is about the sign of His first coming and the end of the Old Testament age that took place when Jerusalem was destroyed in A.D. 70. The beast was the dynasty of Julius Caesar. The book was written about the time that Nero (i.e. 666) began to persecute the Christians. That is why John was exiled to Patmos. This is accomplished by the work of redemption in Christ Jesus. Revelation is not about the headlines. It is about the unveiling of Jesus Christ.
