United Nations Security Council Resolution 922, adopted unanimously on May 31, 1994, after reaffirming Resolution 696 (1991) and all subsequent resolutions on Angola, the Council discussed the peace process during the civil war and extended the mandate of the United Nations Angola Verification Mission II (UNAVEM II) until June 30, 1994.The Council reiterated the importance it attached to the full and timely implementation of the Acordos de Paz peace agreement and relevant resolutions of the Security Council, and the importance of the role of the United Nations in this process. The efforts of the Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali's Special Representative, Margaret Anstee, the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) and that of neighbouring states, particularly Zambia, was welcomed.
