WHEN ROCKY, CHUCK AND TAYLOR RETURN TO THE GARDEN, THEY REALISE SOMETHING IS WRONG. THANKS TO LILLO, THEY LEARN WHAT HAS HAPPENED AND UNDERSTAND THAT PIATTOLA AND LUCKY NEED HELP. TOGETHER, THEY SET OUT ON A RESCUE MISSION. ALONG THE WAY, THEY TRAVEL THROUGH VILLAGES AND MEET NEW FRIENDS: THUNDER IN CALCINAIA, LIGHTNING IN SAN MINIATO AND MILO IN SANTA MARIA A MONTE, WHO TELLS THEM WHERE THE EAGLE'S NEST IS HIDDEN, IN THE WOODS OF CERRETTI.
WHEN THEY FINALLY REACH CERRETTI, THE GROUP FINDS PIATTOLA AND LUCKY WAITING BENEATH A TALL TREE. HIGH IN THE BRANCHES, THEY DISCOVER JUDE AND GIUDITTA SAFE AND UNHARMED, TOGETHER WITH THE EAGLE'S CHICKS AND AN UNEXPECTED PRESENCE: A BLACK COCKATIEL, LOVINGLY WELCOMED AS PART OF THE EAGLE'S FAMILY.
THE EAGLE THEN COMES DOWN TO SPEAK TO THEM AND EXPLAINS THAT SHE DID NOT ACT OUT OF CRUELTY. HER CHICKS FELT LONELY AND SIMPLY WANTED FRIENDS. UNDERSTANDING THIS, THE ANIMALS CHOOSE KINDNESS OVER FEAR AND DECIDE TO HELP ONE ANOTHER, FORMING A LARGE AND LOVING FAMILY WHERE NO ONE IS LEFT ALONE.
THE BLACK COCKATIEL, ANACLETO, ASKS TO JOIN THEM AND IS WARMLY WELCOMED. FROM THAT DAY ON, THE GREAT TREE OF CERRETTI IS NEVER SILENT AGAIN, FILLED WITH VISITS, LAUGHTER, SONGS AND AFFECTION. THE FRIENDS LEARN THAT A FAMILY IS NOT ONLY THE ONE YOU ARE BORN INTO, BUT ALSO THE ONE YOU CHOOSE.
