Alice, a young woman from Sweden, flees the materialistic Western world to discover herself and the meaning of life. She embarks on an open-ended voyage to Latin America. She meets a man in Buenos Aires who asks her to deliver a gift to his friend Rupert in Santiago de Chile. Rupert invites Alice to stay in his house, where the two spend a tumultuous week together. It is from Alice, who now lives in New Delhi and is on vacation in Sri Lanka. Rupert invites her to his house in Kandy, where they rediscover and confirm soul-binding feelings for each other. This time Alice stays.
