However, apart from such gloomy days, there were brilliant joyful days. Quynh ran across Minh, a former classmate, and their budding love began. She had sexual intercourse with her boyfriend before officially getting married. Her boyfriend's family seemed to look down on her when they know that. Eventually, she got married to her lover although there was something psychologically uncomfortable. After 1975, Minh passed away and Quynh remarried Nguyen who used to chase after her in vain. Her second marriage also came to an end a little while later. Quynh had to content herself with her fate and laid the blame on her wrong doings from ... the previous existence!
Two love stories satisfies the standard of trivialities and it makes lots of readers naturally feel closer to characters in the story. This literary work can take a role of a bridge leading to the region where readers used to live in the past.
