The night will find us. Ready yet wary. Our arms, full of yearning, reach out.

The sky whispers, I'm here. Wait for me as if it, too, wanted to be held.

This powerfully poignant collection by former Poet Laureate of Portland, Bruce Spang, delves into the mystery of time and how, by revisiting moments in our lives, we can awaken a new sense of reality and clarity as to how fluid our being is within it. With both grace and candor, Spang astutely examines the lost alchemy of childhood while attesting to the intensity of being older and of accepting one's authentic self by coming out at midlife. Twist invites readers to explore their own lives as well, examining how the past and present intersect, and how such a simple thing as walking the dog with your husband can become a window into being alive.
