I was 34 when I moved into a 55+ community.
This is my heartfelt memoir about friendship, community, retirement living, and discovering that you're never too young or too old to start over.
Amazon #1 Best Seller
When I married my husband and moved to Florida, I never imagined becoming the youngest resident in a 55+ active adult community.
What started as a practical move quickly became the greatest adventure of my life filled with unexpected friendships, hilarious misunderstandings, neighborhood drama, endless questions, and a surprising sense of belonging.
From neighborhood events and golf cart adventures to learning the unspoken rules of retirement living, I share what life is really like behind the gates of a Florida retirement community.
Many readers have even called it the unofficial guide to retirement, not because it's a handbook, but because it offers an honest, humorous look at the friendships, lifestyle, and everyday moments that make active adult communities so special.
It's a story about belonging, reinvention, finding your people, and discovering that some of life's greatest adventures begin when everything goes according to absolutely none of your plans.
Whether you already live in a retirement community, are considering 55+ living, love the Margaritaville lifestyle, are a Jimmy Buffett fan, enjoy golf cart communities, or simply appreciate uplifting true stories filled with humor and heart, you'll feel right at home.
Welcome to paradise.
Based on a true story.
