Three Years in Tibet is a travelogue written by Ekai Kawaguchi, a Japanese Buddhist monk, who undertook a perilous journey to Tibet in 1900. The book chronicles his experiences and observations during his three-year stay in the country, which was then a mysterious and inaccessible land to outsiders. Kawaguchi's account covers a wide range of topics, including Tibetan culture, religion, history, and geography. He describes his encounters with various Tibetan lamas, monks, and ordinary people, as well as his visits to monasteries, temples, and holy sites. The book also contains detailed descriptions of the natural beauty of Tibet, its flora and fauna, and the challenges of traveling in such a remote and inhospitable environment. Kawaguchi's narrative is both informative and entertaining, providing a unique insight into the life and culture of the Tibetan people at the turn of the 20th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
