This'nThat is a collection of twenty-four short stories by the ever-wandering mind of the author, J.T. Evergreen. With no-holds-barred, he has ventured through the outrageous into the very sweet tales his muses have permitted him to tell. The Elevator Ride takes Mike O'Houlihan up instead of down, past the 64th floor into realms of the unknown where he meets an angel he doesn't like who takes him on an unwelcomed tour into his past life. Number Please pits the caller against the phone company's option of speaking to Heaven or Hell in his quest to speak with Jesus. He unexpectedly winds up speaking to God whose line is free; who sets caller straight on a few things with a sense of humor only God can offer. Yard Sales covers three stories from - The Doll who falls into the hands of the original owner at a yard sale and turns her life upside down and sideways; then there is The Pendant which is stolen and found on a neighbors neck, leading the owner to a lockbox and a message from his deceased wife and a new love; and finally the discovery of The Magic Fairy Tale Book by Chad Martin at a neighborhood yard sale given by a man who passed away two weeks earlier. Good ghostly fun. Do Not Call This Number takes you on the hilarious adventure of a naive man whose new telephone number provides him with unsolicited calls for Mortimer, the code name of the previous owner who happened to be a sex worker. These are but four of the twenty-four short stories lovingly collected in this volume for your enjoyment and entertainment during those moments when you may wish to escape for a few moments into another world.
