It has been well over 2000 years since Plato wrote about the last continent of Atlantis and its mythical inhabitants. It was a special place where immortals with superpowers dwelled. The immortals were divided into three Clans: the Bat Clan, the Raven Clan, and the Serpent Clan. A power struggle ensued between the three Clans that ended the peaceful life in Atlantis when the city crashed and crumbled into the ocean. After years of killings, only a handful of the immortals survived and came to live on the other continents. Now they are all after the Crystal Ball, which contains a chemical that can turn them into vampires, enabling them to become the ultimate rulers of the world. Xavier, the leader of the Bat Clan, is protecting the Crystal Ball from falling into the wrong hands, specifically the hands of the Ravens. His journey started in Book One in France in the late-nineteenth century where he experienced a slice of human life by allowing himself to fall in love with a mere mortal, Anna, and together they produced a son named Alexander.
We pick up Xavier's journey in Book Two in Spain, taking us through the nineteenth century and then into the twentieth century. Anna, the love of his life, has died, and he still mourns her loss. With his magical horse and his best friends nearby, Xavier wants to learn about what mortals love, hate, and will do anything to protect-much like him. The Ravens are always close by, waiting for the opportunity to strike Xavier when he is the most vulnerable. The journey will take him through Spain, where he is eager to see a bullfight and where he experiences more than he expected. Then he's on to America. In California, he experiences family, friends, love, and hate. A whole new world awaits Xavier. Life is a journey from the moment we open our eyes until the moment we close them. Xavier's journey is rich with new experiences and wisdoms to pass on to his son.
