Originally a trilogy, These Americans is fundamentally the love story of Gus and Lily. It also serves as a love story of its people and that thing that drives them to do whatever they do. It is a reflection of another kind of normal that we often forget to see. For me, the sub-plots and secondary characters do more than just fill space; they become every bit as important as the main characters.
