Includes the plays Invasion!, This Child and Respect

Three exciting European plays from Theatre cafe, the European theatre project curated by Company of Angels. Swedish writer Jonas Hassen Khemiri's deeply subversive play Invasion! is a tornado of words, images and ideas: this comic masterpiece deals with the lives of young immigrants in Stockholm. Funny and irreverant, often deeply moving Invasion! succeeds in tearing down the walls between 'us' amd 'them'. This Child is one of the most talked about plays in France in recent years. Joël Pommerat's play explores the feelings, from the noblest to the most shameful, that bind parents and children together.Lutz Hübner's hard-hitting play Respect, about sexual attitudes, provocation and intercultural confusion, is based on the true story of an honour killing.

The European writers festival Theatre Café is curated by the award-winning Company of Angels, premiering some of the most exciting new theatre from across Europe. This volume brings together three highly successful and anticipated plays originally showcased in the UK as rehearsed readings in 2007.
