The Young Bug tells the story of a miraculous phenomenon that reverses the ageing process and makes its victims young again. With The Human Rejuvenation Syndrome or HURS, people become more youthful in physical appearance and in their social and sexual behaviour. The lame walk again and love blossoms with all the romantic fervour of youth. How and where did HURS originate? How does it spread? Blake is infected early and Angela hits on a crucial clue to its origins. They join forces as the world becomes fascinated and then obsessed with what people justifiably see as the most marvellous miracle ever to bless mankind. Even so, there are downsides, secular and divine. The Young Bug tells the absorbing tale of how the miracle and the dilemmas it creates are analysed and resolved. It identifies the remarkable destination to which it all leads. You will get to know Joe Kafforoni, Blake's likeable drinking companion at The Lonesome Kangaroo; the two Archbishops who see their traditional, best-ever sales pitch face devastation; Toury and his God of the Dreamtime; and many others like Ed Thackeray, Yaragumba and Barney Travers who each in his own way travels the blessed pathway to Serenity. The Young Bug is exquisite, spellbinding, just fantastic, readers say. I loved the premise of the story and the dialogue - cheeky, laid-back, unassuming and funny...The writing is superb and flows easily, the character voices add depth and humour. Great stuff! ...I love the authentic voice of Joe Kafforoni and the two archbishops....This one's a winner...In The Young Bug, the reader gets a massive amount of bang for his bucks!
