The Witness of Magic to Christianity is a book written by Eliphas Levi, a French occultist and author, originally published in 1854. In this book, Levi explores the relationship between magic and Christianity, arguing that magic is not incompatible with Christian theology. He discusses the history of magic and its various forms, including alchemy, divination, and astrology, and how they have been viewed by the church throughout history. Levi also examines the teachings of Jesus and the early Christian mystics, and how they relate to the practice of magic. Throughout the book, Levi emphasizes the importance of spiritual transformation and the pursuit of higher consciousness, which he believes can be achieved through both magic and Christianity. The Witness of Magic to Christianity is a thought-provoking and insightful exploration of the intersection of two seemingly disparate belief systems.THIS 17 PAGE ARTICLE WAS EXTRACTED FROM THE BOOK: History of Magic: Including a Clear, and Precise Exposition of its Procedure, Rites and Mysteries, by Eliphas Levi.
