Southport, N.C., author Larry Maisel normally writes about history, but makes a dramatic change to romantic poetry in The Unsettled Life. Maisel says going from history to poetry is not so drastic a change. Each of us has a personal history, and the more than 100 poems, dating back to my college days, reflect some of my personal history and that of others. Sometimes even rewarding romance fails. More often than not, because one or the other of the lovers didn't pay attention. The result is having to deal with a changed existence, called The Unsettled Life. These poems will cause many, if not most, readers to think, Been there;done that. Nearly everyone has.
