Cherry never expected her life to unfold the way it did when she first met Tee - an artistic, charming stranger who saw the world in color while she was still trying to name her own emotions. What started as youthful infatuation quickly deepened into a consuming love full of passion, poetry, and pain.
Through university halls, sleepless nights, unspoken trauma, and two unexpected pregnancies, The Traveller chronicles the messy, beautiful, and heart-wrenching journey of two young souls trying to hold on - not only to each other, but to themselves. As their love is tested by insecurity, addiction, betrayal, and grief, Cherry and Tee must face life-changing choices that no lecture ever prepared them for.
But love doesn't end in heartbreak - sometimes, it begins there.
Set between the noisy heart of Nairobi and the healing hush of rural Kitale, The Traveller is a deeply personal, emotionally raw coming-of-age romance about growing up, letting go, and choosing to stay. When Cherry becomes pregnant one last time - and Tee finally finds his voice - they move to the countryside to begin again, planting roots not just in soil, but in faith, family, and forgiveness.
On the same day they first met - a Wednesday - their son Gabriel is born.
And in that quiet, powerful full-circle moment, Cherry realizes the truth:
Some journeys are painful.
Some are messy.
But the ones that lead us home... are worth everything.
