The main character in this story is an architect and artist. Several visits to local carnivals, beginning when he was ten, lead him to a gypsy fortune teller, telling him about his future and his Destiny with the sea.
While in college, he becomes best friends with his roommate, Nick, who remains a best friend into the future. They both end up getting property by the ocean on the SW coast of Mexico where they build their vacation houses.
On one of their visits, little did they realize how an encounter with a stranger from the sea would change their lives forever.
