Alveston in South Gloucestershire is typical of many villages throughout England. This account provides a window into a way of life that would have been common to many rural communities. Things may have moved at a slower pace back then but, as our tour guide will describe, life was far from boring!
Herbie Curtis loved telling a good story. He was a natural raconteur and the life and soul of any gathering.
After years of his family nagging him to write a memoir, he finally gave in.
The complete book was printed in 1999 as a photocopied booklet that raised funds for charity.
On the 25th Anniversary of the first printing, his youngest son is proud to finally publish the memoir as an actual book.
