The Seventh Wave is a novel written by Eugene Lovick Pearce and first published in 1921. The story is set in the early 20th century and follows the lives of two young lovers, John and Mary, who are separated by the outbreak of World War I. John, a British soldier, is sent to fight in France, while Mary remains in England, waiting for his return. As the war progresses, John is injured and sent home, but he finds that he is no longer the same person he was before he left. Mary, too, has changed, and the two struggle to find a way to reconnect and rebuild their relationship. The novel explores themes of love, loss, and the impact of war on individuals and society. It also delves into the psychological effects of trauma and the difficulties of readjusting to civilian life after experiencing the horrors of war. The Seventh Wave is a poignant and thought-provoking work that offers a glimpse into the lives of those affected by one of the most devastating conflicts in human history. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
