Twenty year old Constance Moore was raised to play it safe. Know your place, work hard, and you were assured happiness, or at least, security, but as the nation found out on October 29th,1929; nothing in life is guaranteed. With her family struggling to survive during the height the Great Depression, Constance takes a maid's position at the home of Lily and John Sarrington in upstate New York, where she falls hard and fast for Eli, a strong willed groundskeeper who epitomizes the ambitious spirit she was taught to revile. As she listens to Eli's plans for a better life, she finds herself longing to change her own, birthing a dream within her she never thought possible. But with the light, comes the shadows, and as the woman she always thought she'd be quickly fades into oblivion, and moments of exquisite felicity and unforeseen madness overtake her by turns, Constance is left with an impossible choice, play it safe and save her family, or risk it all and save herself. THE SARRINGTON ESTATE is a story of hope and despair, love and betrayal, and friendships, inspiring and deadly.
