Actors and other artists live accordingly to their own laws. That much we know from our colourful gossip magazines. The Rover sheds light on how furious such an artist-existence can be in reality. The agitated life of the main character Paul Liver is driven by sensational stage successes, ardent affairs and big moments of inventive strength, but also by phases, in which agonizing self-doubts, mental injuries and depressing breakdowns claim breathing space. In The Rover the actor, director and dramatist Markus Weber tells the, hardly disguised, story of his excessive life. The Rover is not only the sincere life report of a charismatic possessed but also an exciting story before the agitated background of the international theatre scene of the last thirty years.
