The Poetic Codex is a reader-centered notation system for describing how a poem moves, sounds, and may be performed - without turning the poem itself into a technical diagram.
A single line of symbols placed above a poem tells you five things: how quickly it moves, how its lines are shaped, how it rhymes, how strictly it keeps meter, and where the energy lands inside the line. A handful of small marks within the text show where a word carries emphasis, where a syllable compresses or expands, where the voice should pause or hold.
That's the whole system. It takes minutes to learn and it never asks you to feel anything in particular.
Inside you'll find the complete notation - tempo, line form, rhyme scheme, meter discipline, and pulse - along with sound maps for more than fifty English words that carry more than one accepted reading, a full guide to the performance marks, worked examples that build a signature from scratch, and a quick-reference field guide.
The Codex is a field guide, not a rulebook. It teaches the reader what to listen for, then lets the poem remain a poem.
Companion reference to A Study in Grief and the standard for every volume by Justin Rodriguez - and usable with any poem you pick up.
