Looking for a fresh kid's book? Try this cheeky tribute to pet fashion (or as we call it, furshion). The Story: Ivy's unicorn is only visible on the full moon. Lucky for her the moon will be full the night of the Pet Gala so she and her pet can join all the other kids on the Pet Gala runway. Ivy's family is of mixed ethnicity, so this is a perfect gift for the child in your life from a blended family (or blended nation). With 35 pages of richly colored illustrations for the kids to marvel at and no funny voices for the adult to perform, this book is guaranteed to delight children and grown-ups alike. It's a bedtime story with a bedtime book within it. With an animal counting challenge, there's also a STEM opportunity for kids to learn how to make charts. It was written during the global COVID-19 pandemic, amidst the social unrest and demands for racial justice. Current cultural themes have worked their way into the story -- from a petdemic (pandemic) to safe enclosures (quarantine) to rainbow inclusion (freedom).
