The Old Wives Tale is a play written by George Peele in 1595 and published in 1908. The play is set in Windsor and follows the story of a young man named Rafe who falls in love with a woman named Dorothea. However, Dorothea's mother is opposed to the match and tries to prevent them from being together. The play also includes supernatural elements, such as witches and fairies, and explores themes of love, jealousy, and the power of superstition. The Old Wives Tale is considered a classic of Elizabethan drama and is still performed today. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
