Pate never recalled the town bus stopping here in front of the cemetery; certainly not this late at night. Following her gaze, he saw the bus was coming. The girl stood up and Pate noticed that the green light reflected off her face and skin, making them almost transparent. He swore he could see the outline of her skull, eye sockets and teeth, as well as the bone structure of her fingers as she reached out to him.
