The June 2013 U.S. Navy-U.S. Coast Guard National Fleet Policy statement, The National Fleet: A Joint United States Navy and United States Coast Guard, directed the production of this National Fleet Plan. It is intended to identify opportunities to increase the commonality and interoperability of Navy and Coast Guard forces and better enable the two components to operate together in support of their mutual homeland security and national defense missions.
