The Confessions of an Ordinary Mystic is an account of the spiritual transformation of a young, adventurous poet traveling through Europe in the summer of 1970 whose experiences and encounters reveal a new spirituality and wisdom that draws upon insights from the timeless religious traditions, and the avant-garde spiritual movements. The Confessions gives the reader a deeper understanding of the meaning of God and Humankind as it explores the balance of good and evil in each person, and the possibility of hope, love, and forgiveness. The story describes a new way to grasp and appreciate spiritual longings and intuitions, a way that leads each person to a reevaluation of life and the path to spiritual transformation and enlightenment. In the Confessions, the reader is led to the brink of madness and ecstasy, and witnesses the birth of a new spiritual consciousness of which we are the co-creators. The book suggests that as we recognize and assume responsibility for this new spiritual life, it will become easier to transform ourselves in ways that will help us survive the potentially cataclysmic technological, biological, and cultural changes Humankind faces as we move into the twenty-first century.
