The Message and Program: Of the Christian Religion is a comprehensive examination of the core tenets and practical applications of the Christian faith. Written by Glenn McRae, this work delves into the essential teachings that define Christianity and explores how these principles are translated into a systematic program of action and ministry. The text serves as both a theological foundation and a practical guide for understanding the mission of the church in the modern world.
McRae articulates the Message by reflecting on the transformative power of the Gospel and the central importance of Christian ethics. He then transitions to the Program, detailing how the Christian religion seeks to influence individual lives, communities, and society at large through education, service, and spiritual fellowship. By bridging the gap between belief and practice, the book provides readers with a clear framework for living out their faith effectively within an organized religious structure.
This volume is an invaluable resource for students of theology, church leaders, and anyone seeking a deeper understanding of the functional aspects of Christian life. It remains a significant historical reflection on religious thought and the institutional objectives of the early 20th century, offering timeless insights into the enduring goals of the Christian tradition.
