Ever wonder what it must have been like to live aboard a lighthouse? Have you ever considered the lighthouse's point of view? The Lucky Lighthouse is a historical coloring book based on the sparkplug lighthouse in the Upper New York Bay, the Robbins Reef Lighthouse. Written in vivid verse with detailed illustrations, and accompanied by clever puzzles and games, The Lucky Lighthouse depicts what life was like for Kate Walker and her family, who lived in the house from 1883 to 1919, then chronicles the lighthouse's subsequent struggles after no longer being occupied by a keeper, then celebrating its restoration, repairs, and bright future after the Noble Maritime Museum, Staten Island NY, was granted stewardship of the light. A story of dedication, patience, perseverance, and hope- along with a little bit of luck- The Lucky Lighthouse is a story the young- and the young at heart- can relate to.
