When Julianne Girard suddenly finds herself a widow she also finds her perfect suburban existence was a sham. How could she not know her husband was leading another life? Jock is her second husband of twelve years. As a successful businessman everyone saw them as the perfect couple. He built her a fabulous home with the gourmet kitchen of her dreams. They retired early. Each had a daughter who was grown and on her own. Money was never an issue. That was then. Now it was all over. Julianne's world came tumbling down. How does a middle age woman pick up the pieces and start over again? With a nugget of intestinal fortitude Julianne opens a small business of her own; an evening cooking school. Delighted with her five students, and charmed by their stories, Julianne has moved on. That is until she learns the truth about one of her students and her life is rocked again. The Kitchen is filled with all sorts of emotions, anguish, personal victories, heartwarming stories and new romance. The reader soon discovers that no matter our age, we may have yet another life to live, and lessons to learn! *As a bonus to the reader, Julianne's delicious, step-by-step, recipes from her cooking school, The Kitchen, are featured in the back of the book.
