Are you listening to the noise of the culture, or the voice of God?
In 1 Chronicles 12:32, the Bible speaks of the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times and knew what Israel ought to do. Today, our homes, churches, and communities desperately need modern men who carry this exact same spirit of spiritual discernment.
The Issachar Mandate by Carlos Smiley is a powerful call to biblical manhood, spiritual leadership, and enduring faith. Through the unforgettable life of his father, Mitchell Big Mitch Smiley, the author reveals what true wisdom looks like in the face of adversity. Big Mitch navigated the crushing weight of segregation, racial tension, and everyday burdens in 1960s Birmingham, Alabama, not with bitterness or fear, but with a quiet, unshakeable trust in God. Whether he was delivering milk before sunrise, counseling neighbors on his front porch, or pastoring his congregation, Big Mitch modeled the discipline of observing before reacting. He lived as a modern day Issachar man.In this compelling blend of memoir and spiritual guide, you will discover how to:
Develop quiet discernment in a loud and reactive world.
Carry the weight of leadership, family, and hardship without letting it crush your spirit.
Protect your family by setting a spiritual atmosphere of peace and hope inside your home.
Transform your workplace into a mission field through uncompromised integrity.
Leave a lasting legacy of wisdom that will echo for generations.
The Issachar Mandate is more than a tribute to a great father. It is a challenge to every man to stop reacting to the headlines and start seeking the heart of God.
Step into your calling. Understand the times. Become the Issachar man your family and community are waiting for.
